Hotel Gion Ichirin - Kyoto

Loved the private onsen. A true relaxation highlight.

Very friendly staff, suggested places to visit. We had central heating, a safe, and multi-channel television in the a double room. All the necessary was there, including bathroom with bidet...

the hotel was fantastic and gorgeous, and the staff were amicable, truly enjoyed the unbeatable location close to the center of the gion district and kyoto. my a double room had modern conveniences, including central heating, a safe, and multi-channel television. it was extremely spacious, and the bathroom was amazing.

The hotel is slightly removed from major transportation hubs, often requiring taxis instead of convenient public transport. Smoke detector lights in the room are excessively bright, and some ventilation can be quite loud. Finding nearby restaurants in the evening can be tricky, as many are small and often fully booked.

No on-site restaurant , but beautiful private onsen and cozy spa amenities.

The Spa Suite featured lavish amenities like a wooden spa tub and a zero gravity massager, providing an extraordinary experience. The quiet atmosphere was a bonus, nice for restful nights. The sound insulation was less than ideal, as conversations from neighboring rooms could be heard, which sometimes interrupted the serene vibe. The location, while close to attractions, required a taxi ride for convenience.

The stay was fantastic for exploring the beautiful temples nearby, like Kiyomizu-dera and Sanjusangendo, which are just a pleasant walk away. The private onsen was a highlight for me, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The room was cozy, and I loved the luxurious bathroom amenities, especially the large tub.

No view from the room!!! The sound insulation could use improvement, as I overheard conversations from the next room. The remote for the speakers was confusing!!!

This was just a perfect match for a quick break in Kyoto with excellent value. The private onsen was a lovely touch, and it was clean and well-maintained. Arriving early paid off as we got to enjoy the room right away, a nice surprise.

Gion ichirin is a fine place! The foyer is so inviting that you just want to relax there. My room was really quiet and had everything I needed, including a washing machine. It's great location to explore the charming gion district.

A hidden gem with beautifully presented, spacious rooms and a colossal bath that offers a luxurious soak. The complimentary drinks, snacks, and noodles in the fridge. The private onsen was a good addition, perfect for relaxation after exploring nearby attractions. The audio insulation between rooms was not ideal, and the wait for assistance at times could be frustrating. The bed's placement made it slightly awkward to navigate around the room comfortably.

The room was spacious, awesome for comfortable movement. My favorite part was the luxurious bathroom, complete with high-quality amenities. I also appreciated the laundry room, which came in handy during my four-night stay. The oversized tub added a touch of opulence. I did notice the audio insulation was lacking. I could hear conversations from the neighboring rooms.
